Summary: Yermo provided a shuttle service for our Buckskin Gulch hike last weekend. He was on time and waited while we picked up our permit at the ranger station. His advice to take trekking poles through the 90+ pools and 10 pools with water waist deep saved us from disaster. He loaned us 8 poles that we forgot to bring with us, really a lifesaver. Started our first day at 8:50 am and set up camp at the end of the Buckskin at 10 PM in the dark. Two adults, two teens and one pre-teen. 25 miles including hike towards Lees Ferry. 100 degrees on the hike out to White House TH. Carry 5 liters per Yermo's advice. Spring located above the confluence with the Paria.

Summary: Yermo is the guy to call if you are near Page, AZ or Kanab, UT. He is extremely knowledgable about the landscape, trails, weather, things to do, and ways to maximize your time. I initially called Yermo to inquire about a shuttle from White House to Wire Pass trailhead for the purpose of hiking Buckskin Gulch. From the very beginning of my inquiry he gave me loads of information about the area before I had even booked with him. Because Buckskin Gulch can be a bit precarious based on weather and trail conditions, Yermo kept me updated on trail and weather reports almost every single day leading up to our hike and I always felt he had our safety in mind first. His outdoor and archeological experience in the area shines through in every conversation, and while we only used his shuttle service, I wouldn't hesitate to book him for a guided tour of literally anything in the area. If there is one resource of information northern Arizona/southern Utah, it's Yermo - call him. You'll be glad you did.
